ResearchInMotion (RIM) has signed new contracts with T-Mobile in the US and Vodafone in the UK to sell the BlackBerry Curve 8520, a handset formerly known as the BlackBerry Gemini. The Curve 8520 is the company’s latest non-3G Smartphone, complete with a full hardware QWERTY keyboard, optical track-pad for navigation and a 2-megapixel camera.

The unit features a 320 x 240 display, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.  A microSD card slot and 3.5mm headphone jack round out the specifications, while the battery is good for 4.5hrs of talk time or 17 days of standby.

The BlackBerry Curve 8520 is expected to be available for free in the UK, assuming that the user signs a new contract priced at £25 ($41) per month or more with Vodafone UK.  Meanwhile pre-pay customers will be able to buy the handset for around £150 ($247).  In the US, pricing and availability have not been announced yet.
