Pittsburgh (ip-192.com): Finally, the iPhone has a new use – tracking and apprehending crime suspects. According to a story published today in the Philadelphia Inquirer, a man was mugged at gunpoint by two suspects Saturday night. They took his iPhone, wallet, and credit cards. They also forced the victim to reveal some Pin-numbers.
Police say the victim went home, called police and, by the time they arrived, the man was already using his computer to cancel his stolen bank and credit cards. He did also activate the GPS tracking service on his stolen iPhone to pinpoint the location of the thieves. While the suspects were able to use the stolen credit cards at a Wal-Mart store, police apprehended the robbery-suspects using the tracking information provided by the victim.
