Facebook to Open Office in India

Hyderabad (ip-192.com): Facebook plans to set up a new office in Hyderabad, India. The office will support local and international users. The social network site says that it already has 8 million users in India, and the new office would be its first in Asia.

"By having multiple support centers in a variety of time zones, we can provide better round-the-clock, multi-lingual support," said Don Faul, Director of Global Online Operations. "People in India and around the world are using Facebook to do everything from voicing their opinions on national issues, to connecting with fellow cricket and hockey fans, to sharing photos with their friends and family."

In addition to it’s headquarter in Palo Alto, Facebook already has support centers in Austin, Texas, and Dublin, Ireland. The Hyderabad office, like the others, will house online advertising and developer support teams.

Facebook has more than 400 million users worldwide. 70 percent of Facebook users now live outside the U.S., and the service is accessed in more than 70 different languages.
