Facebook: Emails set private exposed

Palo Alto (ip-192.com): Email addresses marked private were exposed on Facebook Tuesday night due to an apparent technical glitch. Twitter users angrily discussed the new mishap that lasted for at least 30 minutes.

The social networking site is already in the spotlight for frequent changes to its privacy policy (ip-192.com reported here). If implemented, the new changes could allow third-party websites that partner with Facebook in the future better access to user information.

So far, more than 1,200 comments have been submitted to Facebook's blog page announcement. "Sorry, but this passing on of information is crab! This is against certain country laws and I don't support it! I don't want to get spammed. How much are you getting paid for that?" said Silke P.

No official statement from Facebook was available on how the glitch happened and how many users were affected.
